Tracker's End (Wind Dragons MC #3)(47)
Author: Chantal Fernando

Anna nods, and we all walk out the front. The bouncer eyes us warily until Anna says, “We won’t leave this spot.”

We all start speaking at once.

“How have you been?” I ask her. It’s been years since we’ve seen her.

“Good,” she replies. “Just got out of a relationship, getting back into the dating scene.”

“How’s that going for you?” Anna asks with a cheeky grin.

Bailey winces. “I feel like I’ve been thrown back into the dating pool with no floaties.”

We all laugh at that.

“I can be your float,” Anna jokes.

“You’re not single,” I remind her.

“Oh,” she says. “Is that a rule? Do I have to be single to guide her in the right direction?”

I giggle. “No, but you have to know what you’re talking about.”

Anna scowls while Bailey and I laugh.

“I got Arrow, didn’t I?” Anna says defensively, hands on her hips. “And trust me, it wasn’t easy.”

Bailey asks for details, and Anna shares the basics.

After about ten minutes, Tracker storms out of the club, coming to a halt when he sees us standing there.

“Christ, Lana. Pretty sure I told you to stay where you were,” he growls, looking at Anna, then Bailey. “Who are you?”

I roll my eyes at his rudeness. “Tracker, this is Bailey, an old friend of ours. Bailey, this is Tracker.”

Tracker smiles, his natural charm taking over. “Nice to meet you.”

“You too,” Bailey replies, glancing at me with wide eyes.

Yes, I know. I did well.

My eyes crinkling at the corners, I turn back to Tracker, “We came out here to catch up.”

“I can see that,” he murmurs. “Do you guys want to go into the VIP room? It’s much quieter and safer than standing out here where any man who drives past can see. Rake’s in there, but you can just ignore him.”

Anna and I share a glance. Bailey obviously doesn’t know Rake as Rake; she would know him as Adam. I didn’t think it was fair for us to drag her in there in case she didn’t want to see her ex-boyfriend, which she probably didn’t.

“Can you give us a second?” I ask Tracker, eyes pleading with his.

He nods, says something to the bouncer, then heads back inside.

“You’re dating a biker?” she asks me as soon as Tracker disappears.

“I am,” I say slowly. “So is Anna.”

Bailey turns to Anna. “No shit? What does your brother think of that?”

I look at Anna, who says, “He didn’t like it at first, but now he’s okay with it.”

Bailey looks like she wants to ask more but doesn’t. “Let’s go check out this VIP room,” she says excitedly, heading back inside. Anna and I quickly follow behind her.

“Bailey, wait,” I say. “Before we go to the VIP room—”

A man accidentally bumps me.

“Sorry,” he says, hand sliding down my waist.

I step back, “That’s okay.”

It’s an accident after all. When I turn to move around him however, he stops me, blocking my body with his. “How about a dance?”

“No, thanks,” I quickly say, not wanting to start a fight with the man. “I’m here with my boyfriend.”

He looks behind me, then around. “I don’t see a boyfriend.”

Calling Tracker my boyfriend felt so . . . underrated.

“Sorry, I really have to go,” I say once more.

“How about we—”

“The lady said no,” I hear Arrow growl from my right side. “Now fuck off before her man sees you, ’cause he’s not going to be as nice as I am.”

The man takes one look at Arrow’s cut and flees.

“Thanks,” I tell him, looking around for Anna and Bailey, both of them lost in the crowd. “Where’s Anna?”

“They’re waiting for you in front of the VIP room. Said I’d find you. Come on, Lana.”

I walk up to them, about to tell Bailey about Rake, when the man himself walks out, zipping up his jeans, woman by his side.

Well, fuck.

Had Anna warned her at least?

From the look on Bailey’s face, no, Anna didn’t tell her yet.

“Adam?” she gasps, taking in Rake’s appearance.

“Bailey?” Rake whispers, his eyes widening and his jaw going slack.

Bailey looks to the woman next to her ex-boyfriend. “I see some things don’t change.”

The tension around us spikes, the air thickening, the awkwardness for us watching them palpable.

“Should we go into—”

Rake cuts me off. “Anna, you and Lana go inside. Bailey and I need to talk.”

He can’t take his eyes off her. Does he still care for her?

“What about me?” the woman next to him snaps. “I just had your dick in my mouth and now you want to talk to this bitch?”

Pure. Class.

I look down at the floor and wish it would swallow me whole.

So. Damn. Awkward.

Anna grabs my arm. “Let’s give them some privacy.”

We quickly enter the room and get far away from the two of them, who look like they want to kill each other and tear each other’s clothes off simultaneously. When I see Tracker with a beautiful woman next to him, my eyes narrow. She has dark hair, a killer smile, and a body that even I wouldn’t mind seeing naked. Is this the type of woman he has being thrown at him on a daily basis? Tracker laughs at something she says but turns to look at me, finding me watching him. He says something else to the woman and then heads toward me. What would he have done if I wasn’t here? Would he have left with her? I know he didn’t do anything, but why do I feel like damage has been done anyway?
